GSP Community Partnership

The GSP recognises the exceptional work of many local residents who give their time freely to help others within the Community and it was also felt that achievements gained by members of the Community should also be recognised. This recognition led the Partnership to develop a Community Awards Event which has been held in November every other year since 2005.

The evening is attended by both local residents and businesses with the different categories being sponsored by a variety of different businesses and organisations.

Awards are presented in the following categories.

• Sportsperson of the Year
• Citizen of the Year
• Outstanding Contribution to the Community
• Neighbour of the Year
• Business Support to the Community
• Unsung Hero Award
• Spirit of the Eastside Award
• Lifetime Achievement Award
